What can distinguish a good leader from a boss?
Leadership is defined as the ability of a person or group of individuals to guide and influence followers or members of an Organization. Leadership entails making a good and sometimes difficult decision. Leaders work in determining achievable goals and providing Knowledge of the tools needed to achieve those goals.
A boss is mainly different from a good leader. However, a boss can be a leader but not necessarily. When you are a leader you are regarded as a boss. Though not every boss that can be regarded as a leader. This defines the difference between a boss and a leader. The biggest difference between a boss and leader is just one thing. Boss is respected for obedience due to seniority. A leader is regarded as a well-respected example of the qualities of character and competence.
Those who aspire to become a Leader, have to set a good example. He must always be convinced that he will be ready to face any challenge. He will be available not just to blame anybody but to find solutions to the problems.
Any leader must follow all preaches given to the followers. If he does not then the followers will disobey and disrespect him. Though in some circumstance such leader might be obeyed they will not respect him. Leaders earn respect by their sincere actions. There is always a perfect match between their words and actions. Nothing like a mismatch is found.
This is quite a list, but if you want to become a good leader you need these qualities. It is not only for political leaders but for persons in every leadership position in any organization. Once a person earns the respect of his /her team members he/she ceases to be only a boss and transforms into a leader.
To be a leader, every boss must display some characteristics. Features such as knowledge, foresight, planning, anticipation, action, result oriented approach and respect. This is a complete list, but if you want to become a good leader, you need these qualities. This does not apply only to national leaders, but also to persons in any leading position of an organization.
