Education is a Great Prerequisite to Leadership - PYV

The Coordinator of the Patriotic Youth Vanguard, Comr Olalekan Ridhwan has made it known that the non-governmental organization values the importance of youth. Especially education in relation to the current situation of our community. He established education as a powerful asset that needs procurement before embarking on any employment.

He made this expression while delivering his speech at the Inter-secondary School debating competition organized by the organization yesterday at Iwo city hall. The program which is considered a laudable success and bounty achievement. The program had about 20 secondary schools in participation and a larger audience from Iwo land.

Prince Amuda Tadese, in his words acknowledged the organizing front and advised them to keep on with the good works. He envisaged that patriotic duty that is been rendered by the organization is one that should be everyone’s responsibility.

In our discussion with students participants and teachers, the program was graded with excellence and one that is intellectual. “I was aroused when I first see the debate topic and on getting here I was more enticed and captivated. I need to appreciate the good work of the organizer of the program” said a teacher.

The Program Organizing Chairman, Ismail Afeez made it known that the club is mainly concerned about national development and humanitarianism rather than selfless purpose and non-progressive reason as commonly seen in youths of today.

The debate program which was with the topic, Self Employment is preferable to Government Employment was spoken for and against by speakers from each and various schools. Lots of gifts were given out, consolation prizes were also given. Moreover, an award of excellence was given to Oluomo Ismail Diekola Adefowope who was dully represented by Mr Yusuff Ola-Gold Mutalub.
