I’m not a fan of avocado but because of the nutritional value, I started loving it. Avocados are a stone fruit with a nice creamy texture you can even use it for bread instead of butter, it is widely grown in warm climates and it is also known as alligator pear or butter fruit.
Its health benefits includes reducing the risk of depression, improving digestion and protection against cancer.
Here are some health benefits of Avocado:
1- Good for a healthy heart:
It contains natural plant Sterol called beta-sitosterol that has been proven to help to maintain healthy cholesterol levels which is good for your heart.
2- Good for your vision:
It contains lutein and zeaxanthin, which are the two phytochemicals responsible for tissue in the eyes. These two phytochemicals provide antioxidant protection to minimize ultraviolet light.
3- Lower the risk of depression:
Avocado contain folate which helps decrease the risk of depression, folate helps to prevent homocysteine, a substance that’s helps the circulation and delivery of nutrients to the brain.
4- It improves digestion:
Avocado is very high in fiber which helps prevent constipation and maintain a healthy digestive tract, and lower the risk of colon cancer.
5- Natural detoxification:
Fiber helps in regular bowel movement, which are important for the daily excretion of toxins through stool.
6- Helps in the treatment of osteoporosis:
Saponins is found in avocado, soy, and other plant foods which are associated with the relief of symptoms in knees.
You can also use avocados for different purposes including:
avocado oil, it can be used for cooking, moisturizing the skin and also for your hair, it can also be used as a face mask.
