Historic Third Week of Governor Oyetola in Office By Dayo Fasola

The third week of the Gboyega Oyetola led administration was as busy as it was historic.
The attendance of his first ever NEC/NGF meeting with the Nigeria President Mohammadu Buhari, Vice President Professor Yemi Osibajo and his other governor colleagues were Symbolic.

Followed promptly by marathon meetings with Ministers, Ambassadors, Foreign bodies, and numerous World Agencies the newly sworn in Governor perceives could turn around the fortune of his people.

The Osun government team which landed 2:45 pm in Abuja on Friday, December 14th, 2018 had immediately hit the ground running; attending the NEC meeting which held at the Banquet Hall of Aso rock villa.

Governor Gboyega Oyetola who was the toast and cynosure of all eyes was well received by all governors present with the ones in the opposition parties going the extra mile to show solidarity and support for his administration. It was indeed a homecoming as depicted in all the pictures and other visuals of the meeting.

The next port of call was the United Arab Emirates mission house. Where the Governor met with the ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Mr. Fahad Altaffaq. The invite was on the embassy’s instance.

The Governor resolved to encourage the UAE showcase of interest in his administration plans in all areas starting with agriculture.

Governor Oyetola Achievements

This meeting opened the floodgate of interests as signals streamed in from other countries and ambassadors who went all out offering the hand of fellowship, partnership, and collaboration to the new Governor.

Particularly of note are the High Commissioner of the Republic of Bangladesh His Excellency MD Shameem Ahsan, Executive Director of Qatar Charity to Nigeria Mr Hamdi Mohamed Abdou, the ambassador of the State of Qatar, His Excellency Abdulaziz Mubarak Al-Muhamadi, Honourable Minister of Power, works and housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, Honourable minister of mines and steel development Hon Bawa Bwari Abubakar , Professor Isaac Adewole Honourable Minister of Health, the Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele CON, the Finance Minister, Hajia Zainab Ahmed, top Finland Government Officials and several others. The deliberations were fruitful with parties agreeing on a specific course of action, estimated time and expected outcomes at fixed dates.

This week is a week of note, precedence has been laid with agendas set by Governor Oyetola. Major foundations for different sectors that would hallmark his administration is in view. This makes for the start of history and beginning of the Oyetola era for the state of Osun. Greatness beckons.
