According to a press release from the acting spokesperson of the club, Niyi Isamotu, the club appreciate the dogged fight the two elected lawmakers fought before they were victorious at the poll and give thanks to almighty God who crown their efforts with resounding victory.

In the statement released earlier today, the acting spokesperson of the club said, the Press Club will advise the elected lawmakers to take a cue from what President Muhammadu Buhari said in his victory speech, hereby advising his supporters and Nigerians at large not to gloat over his victory at the poll, “but as a club, we will rather advise the elected lawmakers to see their victory as a call to service.”

The Press Club also advised the lawmakers to form a synergy with each other to ensure their constituency enjoys dividends of democracy.

“It is highly gratifying and a thing of joy that the elected lawmakers are from the same party and the same federal constituency and we see this as a greater opportunity for the two lawmakers to have a seamless and symbiotic relationship with each other to attract federal presence to our federal constituency and Senatorial district at large.”

“Our honourable lawmakers, let it be understood loud and clear that there won’t be room for excuses or avenue for failure as we want a departure from the past and as we look forward to your tenure, we as a club are demanding for an effective and efficient representation.”

“Your victory at the poll is a sign of confidence the electorates reposed in you and we urge you not to let them down.”
