Touring Maiduguri & Making Impact: Story of a Courageous Corps Member

Oyeshola Segun Emmanuel is a graduate from the Department of Management and Accounting, Obafemi Awolowo University. He is currently serving in Maiduguri.

His story and willingness to serve hugely is something unique. He mentioned that when he was posted to Borno state, he was very scared but today he is going through Borno state, Maiduguri to be precise, training indigenes on different skills including Fashion, academic and lots more.

Segun says he is motivated to invest all he has in encouraging indigenes and residents of the crisis laden areas. This is because many of them have the zeal to learn and are willing to take opportunities despite insurgency.

He is not stopping and says it is something of pride for him to do this.

“Making impact has always been what I find joy in doing. Am so grateful to Almighty God that a dream and decision of 3 years back is gradually turning into reality as a result of focus, persistence and integrity.”

“As a corp member serving in the home of peace, Maiduguri, Borno state, have taken much time to observe some Ares in I can contribute my quota towards the development of the host state. Hence, I organized a free tutorial for students of The College of Education, Bama to prepare them for their just concluded examination. This is one of the institutions that became internally displaced as a result of the insurgency. The idea was a success and objective was achieved.”

“Currently on another life-impacting project. God bless Nigeria, God bless Maiduguri and the Borno state.” Segun concluded.
