The attention of the NAOSS executive has been drawn to well-spread speculation and rumour that the leadership of the national headquarters of National Association of Osun State students which represent the interest of all Osun state students both home and in diaspora has endorsed Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, the APC flagbearer for the September 22nd governorship election.

This is to clear the air and inform the general public to condemn in totality such speculations and rumour. The association under the leadership of Comr. Adeyemo Hakeem Alake DID NOT in any way endorse any candidate for the gubernatorial election in the state. However, in the next few days, the association through her leadership will make known the position of the association and the candidate fit to occupy the number one seat in the state.

The association is apolitical, and the welfare of her members is the top priority.

The association shall support, endorse and mobilise for any candidate from any party who is of good integrity and untinted antecedent. Such candidate must be willing to make the interest and welfare of the students as top concern in terms of provision of bursary, scholarship, increase budget for the education sector, reduction in the high cost of school fees in our various tertiary institution, provision of amenities and first grades school equipments for the state own institution, and in particular must be willing to pay workers salaries and entitlements as at when due, must be willing to respond to the demand of the students.

It should be noted that the association is not for APC, PDP, SDP, ADP or any political party as claimed by some scrupulous elements that the association is controlled by the APC led government. The same state government that has neglected the students’ populace and failed in the provision of bursary and scholarship for indigent students.

The association shall soon make known her position on the gubernatorial election scheduled for September 22nd.

The executive urges the general public to do away with rumours that can soil the name of the association. However, rather promote the association as every student from Osun state is an ambassador of the association.

The present leadership of the association has not and will not betray the trust and mandate bestowed unto us, and we shall not sell the interest of the students for any political or monetary value.

On a final note, The association congratulates her member on the new month of September and urge all to promote love, oneness, and unity.
