Dr Taofeek Olayinka Ayinde has a political goal. “My political goal is to sacrifice my best possible to create a rich and prosperous environment for everybody to be happy and I have decided to take my liberty to mean working for future generations of our dear country, Nigeria. He’s the CEO of Sahel Media Group and the Publisher of Sahel Standard Newspaper. He’s a resourceful and hardworking journalist who has transverse the entire country and beyond in political reportage.
Mallam foray into politics started from his tender age, being a son of an astute politician, Late Pa Bilawu Akanji Olode, a strong member of Action Group. His father was one of the founding members of Action Group and Iwo and district. He took after his father and took part in party struggles right from the defunct PSP, SDP, UCNP, AD and finally PDP.
He has paid his due in the political arena after working for a quite number of big shots in the political space including Senator Olu Alabi where he served as his Media Director when he was the Board Chairman of Federal Capital Development Authority. Mallam Olawale Rasheed is confident of winning come September if his party pick him as their candidate. He said, “Now is the time for a successor generation to aspire and be supported to lead the state. I am one of the many children of the PDP. Our fathers should support us to take the mantle of leadership. The overwhelming majority of voters in Osun state are fed up with the old political elite. If you want to beat APC next year, you should present a successor generation of leader within PDP. Without that, we may be digging for another failure.
The PDP leaders will be insulting the voters and underrating their intelligence if they fail to consciously work to produce a candidate from the right zone, with new age outlook and with unblemished records. It is a lie to affirm that Osun people want to ‘change the change’ at all cost. While they want to change, they are not ready to jump from frying pan to fire. The PDP can only become a viable option for the people when it demonstrates a true, not cosmetic break from the past.”
Olawale Rasheed is one aspirant to beat with his wealth of experience and political clout within the power broker in PDP.
6. Otunba Adebayo Waliyullah Rovet

In both the APC and PDP, if you put the contestants together, only one person will become the governor and only God knows that person. But if you are not part of the game, you cannot win.”
“About my chances, I leave everything to God. I also believe something will work for me. If you want to be fair in politics, and we have to obey zoning, Osun Central has done it during the tenure of Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola and Osun East, IfeIjesha, is doing it now with the incumbent, and the zones are just three, it’s the turn of Osun West where I hail from. To me, that is an advantage. Although in Osun West, there are many contestants both in the PDP and APC, it is God that will choose. And I’m confident of winning by God’s grace”
