Meet the honourable representing Iwo Local Government at the State of Osun House of Assembly, Iwo State Constituency, Hon Uzamot Halil Adebayo
Uzamot Halil Adebayo is a political scientist who hails from Molete quarters, Iwo. He was born in the 1970s. He attended NUD Primary School, Igbaye, Ijesha Muslim Grammar School, Ilesha, and Holy Mountain College, Ibadan.
Halil Dodo as he’s fondly called was trained as a teacher at Osun State College of Education, Ilesa. Also, he later got his first degree in Political Science from Lagos State University, Lagos.

Halil started his career as a Clerical Officer with Hope Communication Limited, a place he worked for many years before he established his own business, Uzamot Oriolowo Nigeria Limited. Alh Halil Uzamot Adebayo also had a brief stint with National Population Commission between 2005 and 2006 where he worked as Census Demacator/Supervisor. He works currently as the Manager, Honeyomar Ventures Limited.
Uzamot Halil Adebayo is a grassroot political and an astute administrator. He was elected as Honorable Councilor representing Molete II between 2008 and 2010. While serving as a councilor, he was the Majority Leader of House. He also served as Chairman of the House Committee on Youth, Sports, and Community Development.
Hon Halil Dodo was instrumental in Enactment of Bye-Law for the Establishment of Tax Force that is working on collections of Iwo Local Government Internal Generated Revenue up till date. While serving as Majority Leader, the legislative arm of the local government also went on to enact another 10 bye-laws, first of its kind in the history of Iwo Local Government.
While also serving as a councilor in Iwo Local Government, he facilitated a good number of projects to his wards including the construction of Idi-Omo/Kuta/Aroworeki Road networks. He also facilitated the equipping and staffing of Yidi – Ọba Maternity Center. He was also responsible for the extension of electricity from Testing Ground Junction /Gaa Fulani /Ọmọ Esho Area. As a councilor, he was also responsible for the extension of electricity to Alaadorun /Afiiku /Aroworeki Junction. He also sponsored the extension of electrification of Hon Adepoju Balogun street, Opposite Yidi Ọba Maternity. He also sponsored the drilling and installation of two motorized boreholes, digging of a deep well at some strategic location among other developmental works.
Halil has served Iwo and Osun diligently in various capacities.
Halil Adebayo is a community man to the core and was a member of the Coronation Committee of Ọba (Dr) Abdulrasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1 in 2016. He’s also a board member of State of Osun Community Based School Management Board. He has also received various award and recognition from different bodies and organizations. Halil Dodo has attended numerous national and international seminars. Among others are also workshops and symposium in the area of capacity building, political reforms among others.
