5 Healthy Ways to Safeguard Your Immune System

The immune system is a host defense system comprising many biological structures and processes within an organism that protects against disease.

The immune system of the human body is a network of cells, tissues, and organs that work together to defend the body against attacks by “foreign” invaders. The term “foreign attacker” is used for bacteria, parasites, fungi and other viruses that can lead to diseases due to infections. It is the job of the immune system to preserve and destroy these infectious organisms.

Although they are invisible, the cells of the immune system continuously move bacteria and block viruses from cell infection. Just like your heart rhythm and digestive disorders, the immune response is a system that works independently, and you have no control over it. However, many practices can serve as a helping hand. Some such practices are:

The first step that starts with the defense is to keep all possible bacteria in the bay. How can this be done? By respecting good habits of personal hygiene. Stop the infection if it starts and before it starts. Make sure that you do not recommend spreading infections to others with these simple measures:

  • Wash your hands 5-6 times a day with soap or disinfectants. Always prepare or eat food after washing your hands and every time you use the toilet.
  • When you sneeze or a cough, cover your mouth and nose with tissues to prevent infection of other bacteria.
  • Always cut off all cuts, because if it is open, it can become septic and damage the immune system. If you incur severe cuts or injuries anywhere on your body, you will be examined by your doctor within a reasonable time.
